Fans and Fandom

A fan is a person or people who admire and follow a certain show, film, book, sight or anything else that has a following of great admirers. For example people are fans of all varieties of films weather its sci-fi or Rom Com they both have a following but maybe the following or admirers are different type of people.

A fandom is not just one fan in a group of friends who may admire different things, a fandom instead is a group of people who organize to meet to share there specific interests in a large group. For example if multiple people liked breaking bad and the all met that would be a fandom.

A consumer is a type of person who casually enjoys certain types of media, they are not extreme but they do enjoy talking about their favourite media.

An enthusiast is everything a consumer is but they are a much bigger fan, for example they are likely to purchase the merchandise.

A fan is someone who does the same as a consumer and an enthusiast but they live and breathe their favourite media, for example they will often make references to their favourite media.

A producer is someone who love their favourite game, film or t show so much that they attempt to recreate it.

I think that I am more of a fan than any of the others above as i do really enjoy music, films, tv and even social media. I do often make 'quotes' to my favourite films and even songs. For example i will often quote things that i have recently watched e.g. prison break but also things that i have watched multiple times e.g. star wars or independence day.

Web 2.0 has definitely benefited fandom as it allows them to share their thoughts, theorys and opinions on their favourite media. Wether they want to share lyric videos for other music lovers share fan fiction to show people your love and skill, review tv shows or film. It allows people to take information from other fans  and supply fellow fans with your own information.

As you can tell by theses videos  people take films such as star wars extremely seriously.

History Of Technology

Web 1.0 is a one way street of information coming from users to consumers.
Web 2.0 is a two way street where anyone can share information and take information from sights and social media.
For example Youtube allows anyone to upload content in the form f videos and anyone can give there feedback or opinion by liking, disliking or commenting.

The Future of technology

Technology has come a long way in the past twenty years, just imagine what we could create in the next twenty years. Flying cars? Bendy phones? Time machines? Maybe even teleportation.
Just think its the year 2036 and everyone travels by teleportation or space ships, cars are just part of history, planes lie un used in a scrap yard. Phones have completely changed even the latest iPhone is considered a relic. Instead people have internal chips tapping int your brain letting you just hear music when you please communicate with out speaking search things by just thinking it.
Time is no object, people don't age anymore thanks to an immortal injection. Time is no object, if you need future technology or see first hand how jack the ripper killed his victims just hop in the speedy time machines scattered around main capitals of the world.

Sci-Fi

Science Fiction Conventions

In a science fiction film you would usually expect to see unrealistic acts or adventures. For example you possibly would see time travel, space travel, distant planets, future technology, extra terrestrial items or aliens and other aspects that you wouldn't expect to see in real life. Other things you would expect to see are futuristic or past settings along with advanced equipment or settings in space or other galaxy or places. They also could contain places such as utopia or distopia. 

Ai in sci fi films

In many sci fi films they use ai to create an apocalypse for example in these films the Ai would betray their programming so they would end up destroying the human race or at least try.

I, Robot- Starring will smith this Ai film contains a story where robots are law inforsers and they suddenly decide humans are unworthy of living therefore they start killing people its up to will smith and his Ai assistant to save the world.
Avengers Age of Ultron- This is the second and most recent avengers film and in this one though not peppily but rather than being the solution they are the problem.As tony stark (iron man) and the avengers and tired and strained from helping the world every single day tony decides to come up with his own solution a highly intelligent Ai Ultron who soon realises that humans don't deserve to live so he sets out with an entire army to kill the avengers and the world      

Robo Cop- After a fatal accident that would leave him in a comer Alex Murphys family get approached by a program to repair him body and set his life back to what it was. Feeling like she has no choice Mrs Murphy enlists her husband in this risky program. After months of treatment Alex wakes up a changed man not just physically. His brain is repaired and most of his body is metal but with his new body, mind and abilities he uses them to enforce the law in Detroit.

There are many different age rating in different countries. If you have an extremely young child they should be watching U or G, if they are above 8 years old though they could watch any up to PG however if their under 12 they can be accompanied by an adult to watch a 12A. If their 12 or above they can watch 12s and any rating below, if their 15 they can watch 15 and under or if their 18 or over they can watch any film in the uk. 

Distribution and Exhibition

Distribution- Films moving from where it is made to local businesses and mainstream shops for example if it was dvds being distributed they would be shipped or moved to shops or stock rooms or if it was internet streams it would just be downloaded.

Exhibition- Usually for cinema screenings and helping distribution. Its how the movie shown ie cinema, tv, dvd and online streaming.

Uc- Particularly suitable for unsupervised audience.

U- Suitible for all

PG- Parental Guidance (Must have parents permission or be accompanied by a parent if under the age of 11.

12A- 12 or over if 12 or under you must be accompanied by an adult.

12- for 12 year olds or above.

15- 15 years or older.

18- 18 years or above

R18- high 18 or above

 

Zombieland dvd cover

This dvd cover contains a large image of the main characters with the title of the movie zombieland being shown in bright red writing in a large font.
On the front it also contains the main casts names (Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin).
On the front it also has the slogan 'A comedy that kills'.
It also has an abbreviated review of the movie placed just below the characters.

On the side of the case it has the name of the film in large red text with a picture of a character placed above it along with the age rating (15) underneath that it also has the name of the company that created the film (sony).

On the back it has a large blurb briefly describing the events in the film and yet another review and age rating sign aswell as running time and region the film can be played in.

This cover is engaging to the audience as it has a fun picture with enticing writing and short expressive reviews.

Develop your own idea for an apocalypse film
Story:
Sgt Cameron Lance is on the frontline serving his 3rd tour, and his final one as his wife annabelle lance is expecting a child soon. After 3 months in iraq his best friend and brother in law Bellamy Staton was murderd in front of Camerons eyes. Over come by anger and grief he deserts the army to hunt down the man who killed his brother in arms. He soon discovers the man was a great war lords son. In his pursuit of khal durr and if needs be his father known as skull keeper he undercovers  a building full of nuclear weapons. Knowing that his vengeance is much less important than the lives of everyone in the world including his wife he attempts to remove the uranium to prevent a world catastrophe but as he does this he is spotted by khal he becomes distracted and attempts to kill him but in doing so he accidentally throughs khal into a control board that sets off the nuclear weapons one for each major city or town. He falls to his knees in despair as khal stands and attempts to kill cameron a massive explosion goes off in the base creating mass damage and causing khals death. Cameron wakes up miles from the building he can barely move and can't remember anything about his past other than the name annabelle. After weeks of barely surviving he discovers that he may be the last man alive but he's not alone. The other things he is joined by are mearly shells of men but if anything they are creatures. As he remembers nothing he has no memory of bellamy or his murderers father who is still alive but severely de formed and becomes mutated and is now in control of an army of the dead. The skull keepers control cannot be kept on his own but he has help from his second in command bellamy.

I have decided that this choice of media (film/sci fi) is mainly used for entertainment as sic fi as a genre doesn't inform people of any real knowledge it doesn't show true aspects for relationships and it doesn't contain identity as a whole.

Jeans husband gordon was an astronaut and was accepted for the apollo 13 mission, but he fell ill at the time of the launch and could not go. he switches on the television and sees that the science fiction film apollo 13 is on. he decides to watch it, why?

 He decided to watch this film for information identity and relationship. he has a relationship with this film as he's an astronaut and he has an identity relating to the film as he was going to be on apollo 13. He also has is also seeking information as he is missing out as he is to ill to do the real deal.

Jean and gordon have two children , two teenaged girls called alice and poppy. Al their friends are going to the cinema to see the latest sic fi film- the hunger games. Everyone is talking about stand they just have to see it, so they can discuss it with their friends.

I think the main purpose of them watching this film is for relationship as it will help them have relationships with her people by talking about the films.

Gordon has a brother called edward, who is a professor at the local university. His main interests outside university are looking through his telescope at the stars and planets in the sky. He is convinced he has seen UFOs before. He switches on the television and sees that the science fiction film invaders from mars is on. he decides to watch it, why?

He decides to watch this because he is interested in UFOs because he ahas a personal relationship and past with them being a main thing i his life.

Are aliens good or bad?

Aliens vary  from good to bad some may display negative thoughts toward humans others may only have good intentions.

COCA-COLA

COCA-COLA RESEARCH
Coca-cola (coke) is the most renowned drink company in the world. With this information it may come to no surprise that they have a very large advertisement programme. They use many methods but mainly focus on real life events. For example families and relationships. If i were to compare the classic coke adverts to the new there are many changes that it has gone through. The old adverts were very obvious and in your face about there product whereas todays adverts are very subtle with there product placement they never even state the name of their product. The classic adverts would just tell people how good coca cola is but today they use different techniques. They use a short abbreviated story where there product is shown in happy situations.

HOW THEIR PRODUCT BEGAN
It all began in 1886. It was created by a local small time pharmacist named John Pemberton aka (doc). He fought in the civil war and when it ended he decided he wanted to invent something that would give him commercial success. This is how our beloved coca cola came to be.

Over the years coca colas logo hasn't really changed much they've always used red and white as there main colours. However their slogan is forever changing. Currently after the airing of the newest advert, their slogan is brother love. However it has changed many times over the past centuries here are some examples of old slogans;Red White and You,  Drink Coca Cola, Delicious and Refreshing, Coca Cola Revives and Sustains, The great national temperance beverage.

MY IDEAS FOR A COCA COLA ADVERT.

I have many ideas for a coca cola advert but before i can explain them i will show an example of a coke advert, and this one is my personal favourite…

This advert shows coke at its routes, rather than being obvious with their branding and over selling their product they are subtle and show a rather up beat situation.

If i was to create a cocacola advert i would bring aspects of this ad into my ideas. I wouldn't steal things directly from it just the tone and overall message. Mine would be set in winter and wouldn't contain any speech just a slow piano playing in the background. There would be a sad homeless man with a large blanket covering him. Then a young boy would reach out to offer him a classic coke can with the easter bunny on it.The man would then proceed to except and drink the refreshment. Then the camera would rotate around the man with slight speed and after the camera goes past his back the snow would disappear and the sky will turn bright and everyone will be in good clothes eating easter chocolate.
